If you were in the audience, thank you for being the best audience ever. This was our first gig in 10 months and even though the preparation has been tight over the past 3 weeks, it all paid off last night in our 15 minute showcase of 3 tracks. We opened with 2 originals from our EP, Sentinel followed by Mist, finishing with an arrangement of the Tetris theme. We’re hoping to get a video online very soon. So last Thursday I was sent the complete tracks to Shifty Sarah‘s ToyPOP EP masterpiece that has been getting tons of hype on soundcloud recently, and in a sleep depriving 8 hours, I mixed and mastered them on my studio monitors, car, clock radio and poundland headphones. Totally worth it as it has since received more radioplay on BBC Radio Wales and hasn’t left my car all weekend. It’s such a unique style of clunky toy instruments blended together with colourful piano and glockenspiel melodies with captivating vocals which are so catchy, they’ll be stuck in your head for ages.

Listen to the whole thing on her soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/shiftymusic/

Introducing Nerve Noise

Nerve Noise began as an experimental instrumental project with no name. Just many years of sitting infront of a piano and collecting ideas, choosing the best and then putting them together and has now evolved to become something more than that. Nerve Noise is a combination of lead catchy flute melodies, backed by distorted guitar and synth. We’ve played several support gigs in 2010 and will be returning Summer 2011 with even more material.

Please visit www.nervenoise.com for more details. Here is our EP below:

99 Ways was the first ever band I joined. We had use of 1 budget condenser mic and a USB mixer. This is the archive of our work.

99 Ways was a progressive/alternative rock project with a metal influence in some of the later material that had been worked on. It all began when Craig Walker invited Dan Oliver, Tim Wakeley and Carys Mumford to work on demo material. Joined later by Dan Bradley on keyboards, 99 Ways went on to produce 3 demo tracks. The songwriting process undertaken was long and very time consuming as the band’s members had many different influences. A key influence was Dream Theater.

Unfortunately, no demo EP was ever released as the recordings were unpolished and after the cancellation of the band’s first ever gig, the project disbanded with it’s members continuing their side projects.
